Most people don’t wake up one day and say, “I think I’ll learn to skydive.” They wake up feeling something else first. Stuck. Restless. Ready for a reset. Ready to prove something to themselves. They want to feel alive again.
You don’t need another vacation. You need a victory.
Becoming a licensed skydiver requires two new skills: maneuvering in freefall and piloting a ram-air canopy (parachute.) We guide you through the process and help you develop skills over the course of 25 jumps or more –required by the United States Parachute Association (USPA), in order to earn your A-license.
The program begins with a tandem skydive! This “immersion jump” allows you to become familiar with the experience of both freefall and canopy piloting. Your instructor will teach you the “arch” body position –a core fundamental to stability in freefall. As you progress your instructor will gradually add to your list of responsibilities. Your awareness level will increase. You will soon be control your heading and learn to deploy the parachute at the proper altitude.
Then, you will learn about the parachute system and how to fly the correct landing pattern –another core fundamental.
After your third tandem you will attend a ground school for intensive training prior to jumping with your own rig on your own back! An instructor will join you for freefall and assure you deploy. An instructor will also coach you through landing via radio. Keep learning until you earn your A-license!
There are four main licenses issued by the United States Parachute Association (USPA.) Each license level A, B, C and D represent significant jump numbers and demonstrated experience. Each license also unlocks new adventures –like jumping near water, at night, wingsuits, and stadium jumps. We are thrilled to guide you.
